Moon Jellyfish have many special adaptations for living in the deep sea. For example, when food lands on the Moon Jellyfish that animal gets trapped in the jellies mucus and is sent through eight canals that then deposit food into the stomach. They have limited control over their movement so they prefer to drift most of the time. However, they are also active swimmers and have an internal structure called a hydrostatic skeleton which helps them move horizontally by body contractions and pulsations. Also, the species swims close to the water's surface, where they spread their tentacles to catch food.
